Rachel Boyd is currently a Deputy Principal (responsibility for eLearning) and year 2 classroom teacher (6 year olds) from Auckland, New Zealand (formerly from Nelson). In her 10th year of teaching she has always taught at junior levels, from years 1 - 3.
Rachel, through her role as eLearning Leader, also provides and participates in professional development in ICT within her school, ICTPD Cluster and other clusters nationwide.
Rachel has presented at Learning@School, Tuanz, Time4Online and ULearn ICT conferences, facilitated workshops and given keynote presentations for several ICT clusters nationally. In 2009 Rachel was the keynote presenter for the International K12 Online Conference.
Throughout the last 5 years, Rachel has enjoyed exploring the possibilities of web 2.0 with her students and pushing the boundaries of what 5, 6 & 7 year olds are capable of - little kids can "do" ICT too!
